Life Story 

April Shana Yelverton was born January 26, 1978, to Emma Ola Greenwood and Lee Lunceford in Columbus Ohio. April departed this life on October 4, 2022, surrounded by friends and family.

 

April attended Poly Tech Vocational institute in Dover Delaware.

 

April had a very outgoing spirit!! She enjoyed routing for her favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles, playing spades, and beating her opponents in the mind challenging game of dominos. There was never a dull moment in her presence. She enjoyed dancing even though she was not the best at it and was the fashionista out the bunch by parading her outlandish styles in wigs of all colors. April was considered the cool aunt by all her nieces and nephews those blood and non- related. To know April was to LOVE her, she kept the neighborhood glued together by spreading her infectious smile and love of fun.

 

April was proceeded in death by her father Lee Lunceford, Tasha Benson (Baby Mother), her son, Elijah Greenwood, her nephew (Godson) Brandon Luckett and Angela Bordley (Sister Cousin).

 

April is survived by: her mother, Emma Ola Greenwood Crain of Canton Mississippi, her father, King A Lee Crain of Dover Delaware; her siblings, Curtis LaMonte’ Adams -Greenwood (Anthony) Atlanta Ga, Tamekia Lashonta Coleman (Tim) of Canton Mississippi, Niga Lawan Mason (Terron) of Dover Delaware, Bridgitte Lawon Crain of Dover Delaware, Anthony Tyron Crain of Dover Delaware, Deborah L. Keith of New Port News VA, Stephanie D Lunceford of Columbus Ohio, Kevin Lunceford ( Joanne) of Whitehall Ohio; Cory Reyes(Churp Churp) of Dover Delaware, Crystal Washington of Augusta Georgia; her children, Breyana Greenwood, Jenay Smith, Makayla Yelverton, Dy’Mear A.T. Lee Yelverton, Nevaeh Greenwood, Maurice Wells and Brian Davis all of Dover Delaware; nephews (more like sons) Dwayne Coachman of Baltimore Maryland and Nasir Pierce of Dover Delaware, (Baby Mama) Tylisha Evans, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

 

April was a devoted mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, who will be greatly missed by all her loved ones.
