Life Story
David Lewis, a loving father, brother, son, and friend, leaves behind six beautiful children and one special son. He passed away on May 22, 2022 at the age of 40. Life-long resident of Delaware since he was born on July 20, 1981.
David was a true family man and a loving and affectionate person who would do anything for the people he loved. He was adventurous and liked to start traditions with his family. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He would often make up silly dances and whistle in stores if the family got separated. He made up handshakes that were special to him and his children. He was truly a wonderful father and a phenomenal man.
David attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with his foster parents and was a member of Youth Fellowship Sunday School and the Youth Choir. He graduated from Milford High School in June 2000, and worked several jobs to include: Walmart, the State of Delaware (DelDot), Grayling, and most recently he was employed at Allen’s in Harbeson Delaware.
Davis was preceded in death by his father, Larry Bailey.
David is survived by his mother, Vicky Lewis; his children, Davonté, Lanaé, Davion, Da’myje, Kinslea, and Lukas; his special son, Brody; his siblings, Lisa, Larry, Robert, Tonya, and Reneé; his special cousins, who were more like his sister and brother, Sheena and Peter; his foster parents, Roslyn and James Harris Sr.; and special siblings, Tracey and Jimmy. He also shared a special bond with his aunt Brenda Lewis. In addition, he is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
