Life Story 

Ellen G. Reynolds “Nancy” age 74 was born on September 28, 1949. Nancy departed this life on October 30, 2023, surrounded by family. She was the daughter of the late Geraldine Knox and George Barker.

 

Nancy graduated from Jason High School in Georgetown, Delaware. Shortly after high school, she worked at Townsends Poultry in Millsboro, Delaware. She pursued a career the CNA field at the Stockley Center from where she would retire in 2013. She also held various jobs at other nursing facilities. After retiring she worked at Tidal Health hospital for five years.

Nancy loved to spend time with family. She loved her children and grandchildren and would go on various vacations together. She loved watching her soap operas, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful and she also loved the ID Channel. Everyone knew her as the life of the party. Nancy was a very lovable and kind-hearted person. She will be truly missed by her children, family, and friends.

 

Nancy was preceded in death by her father George Barker, mother Geraldine Knox, stepfather Edward Knox Sr., two brothers Edward “Frank” Knox Jr. and Gary Dorsey, and three sisters Irene Baker, Shirley Jackson, and Susan Evans.

Nancy's memories will be cherished by those she leaves behind: her husband Larry Reynolds of Georgetown, Delaware, her children Janita Dickerson of Bridgeville, Delaware, Jaime Dickerson of Millsboro, Delaware and Darryl West Jr. of Bridgeville, Delaware, two brothers Ricky Knox (Angela) of Kileen, Texas, and Roy Knox (Jennifer) of Bakerville, California, four sisters Nanlou Douglas (Ernest) of Parsley, Virginia, Connie Wise of Millsboro, Delaware, Nadine Jenkins (John) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Melva Jackson of Wilmington, Delaware, one brother-in-law Willie Reynolds (Rhonda) of Delmar, Delaware, three sisters-in-law Maxine King (Cecil) of Ellendale, Delaware, Martha Matthews of Salisbury, Maryland and Diane Byrd of Delmar, Delaware, four aunts Melissa Dorsey, Phyllis Lewis, Ruth Dorsey, and Delores Dorsey all of Millsboro, Delaware, close friends Bridgette Reynolds of Lincoln, Delaware, Josie Harmon of Bridgeville, Delaware and Betty Jean Foreman of Ellendale, Delaware, one special cousin CArolyn Watson, one special niece/daughter Shawanda Knox of Millsboro, Delaware, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
