Nathaniel Green

Nathaniel Green was born June 2, 1952, to James Green and Lucretia Simmons at City Hospital in New York, being the fourth of twelve children. Nathaniel passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at home, transitioning from this earth to be with his heavenly Father.

 

As a young boy, Nathaniel attended Junior High School 64 and would later graduate from Boys and Girls High School as a proud member of the R.T. O.C. Program. After graduating from High School, he joined the Armed Forces in 1971, serving in the United States Air Force with pride. While serving, he was awarded the National Defense Award Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and also received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.  He served in Vietnam and Thailand as an Electrical Engineer. This would be where he developed his passion for technology. He would separate honorably in 1974.

 

Nathaniel was very handy with computers and technically inclined. He always maintained an active presence in the technology industry being sure to keep up with Information Technology, particularly, computer technology such as networking, hardware, software, and the internet. He held numerous positions with technology companies for more than 30 years. Upon retiring, Nathaniel earned an Associate Degree from LaGuardia College and started his own business called Mean Green Transportation Services within the Delaware area.

 

Nathaniel married the love of his life, Gloria Jones in 1984. Together, they loved listening to music, dancing, and spending time with the family. Nathaniel was an avid chess player and loved teaching his family the sport of basketball which earned him the title “Family Coach”.

 

Nathaniel is proceeded in death by his wife; parents; and siblings, Joe, Bernard, Theresa, and Clifford.

 

Nathaniel is survived by his loving family, daughters, Lachell, Qwuanda, and Tamara; sons, Nathaniel Jr., Daniel, and Jedidiah; siblings, Essie Mae, Deborah, Janice, Wilbert, Rebecca, and Sidney, 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
