Life Story
Marion Wright Sr., 73, of Dover, DE passed away on January 30,2022. Marion was born in Allendale, SC on August 3, 1948, to the late Lee A. Wright and late Ina Mae Redenburg-Wright. Marion was raised in South Carolina prior to relocating to New Jersey, where he worked on McGuire AFB. Marion transitioned to Dover, Delaware in the mid-80’s with his family. He worked for Joseph T. Richardson Inc. out of Harrington, De until he retired in 2008. Marion loved talking to family, friends and even a stranger. On any given day you could have a long conversation with him about how things use to be. He loved watching his favorite shows In the Heat of the Night and Texas Ranger and he would not hesitate to tell you what was going to happen in the episode. In his early years he loved fixing things and working with his hands it didn’t matter if it was a lamp or a car, he would figure it out the issue and fix it.

In addition to being preceded in death by his parents was preceded in death by his oldest daughter Michelle Wright; seven brothers James L. Kennedy, Cleophus Wright, Willie Lee Wright, Theodore Wright, Ben Connley, Charles Wright, and Thomas Wright; and sister Lucille Williams. He is survived by his children, Roy(Stephanie) Proctor, Nicole A. Wright, Deanna Wright, and Marion Wright Jr. all of Dover; grandsons KamRon McCutchen, Jaymere McCutchen, and Marcus Proctor all of Dover; siblings Dan (Juanita) Wright of Wauchula, FL, Sophia Cauley, Regenia Morris both of Dover, De, Jessie M. Haynes of Fairfax, SC, and Daisy (Thomas) Myers of Allendale, SC.; and three sisters-in-law Lillie Wright, Olivia Gloria Wright , and Phyllis Kennedy all of Dover; and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves a host of friends and extended family members to cherish his memory.
