Life Story

Roby Eugene Coppage lll, departed this life for his everlasting life on September 29, 2023.

Roby was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. His smile and laughter were so contagious. You could sit and talk with him for hours and never get bored, and he would definitely leave you with some knowledge, Roby was very intelligent and smart.

Roby loved spending time with his children watching movies, playing video games and cooking with his daughter. Roby loved to sing and dance. He especially loved karaoke with his momma. He loved fishing with his sister, while he would be the only one to catch the only fish. Roby loved just hanging with his dad listening to music or competing with him to see who talked the loudest. He also loved special family gatherings and watching his Eagles play.

Roby had a big loving heart. He was the go-to man when someone needed a hand or a shoulder to lean on. You could talk to him about anything and with him, your talks were secret. He could tell you a story that would be about a very serious situation but the way he would tell it, would have you in tears laughing.

Roby worked as a carpenter in his later years but his real talent was a as a chef;  he could cook you up something out of nothing. He worked as a chef through the years at Playtex, Applebee's, Grotto Pizza, Lone Star, to name a few.

Roby had a funny, loving, and caring personality. He so loved his family. It didn't matter if he saw you yesterday or last year, he still loved you. Roby will forever be missed. Until the day we are called home to be together again, as Roby would've said "see you later,  it's never goodbye.”

Roby is preceded in death by his grandmother, Brenda Coppage of Clayton; his baby brother, William J. Coppage of Dover; and his maternal grandfather, Emanuel Wright of Dover.

Roby is survived by his parents, father, Roby Coppage, Jr. of Clayton, and his mother, Vivian Coppage of Dover; his children, Lillian Coppage of Dover, and Roby Coppage of Dover; four sisters, Casey Coppage of Wilmington, Torrey Derieux and wife Corissa of Hartly, Ashley and Anna Coppage both of Smyrna; two brothers, Mike Coppage and spouse Jessica of Felton and Steven Hunter and wife of Smyrna, and a host of extended family he also loved dearly.
